This program is designed to support 12 to 21 year olds in developing greater independence, socialization, and daily living skills through structured, hands-on non-cook meal preparation.
Participants will learn how to prepare simple meals and snacks that they like, while building skills in following directions, planning, organization, communication, and teamwork.
In a supportive peer environment, youth will have opportunities to prepare non-cook foods with a microwave, blender, toaster oven and air fryer. Foods to be prepared are subject to participants’ preferences, allergies and other restrictions.
As participants prepare food for themselves, they will have the opportunity to create meaningful friendships, increase self-confidence, and strengthen the practical life skills needed for greater independence at home and in the community.
Cost: package of 4 classes for $400
