Where/when is the cooking group?

The group is offered in 4 week packages.

It will take place at Q.E.D.

Our next offering: consecutive Saturdays, July 11th through August 1st:

  • 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM

  • Ages 12-21

    * More time slots will be offered to accommodate full groups of middle schoolers (12-14), high schoolers (14-18) and young adults (18-21).

    TBD - Additional offerings may take place on Sundays.

What are the qualifications of the group leader?

Christine Mordente, the founder of BeFriend ASD has over 25 years of experience in the field of special education. For five of those years, Christine worked closely with autistic teens in an inclusion program.

Christine earned her M.Ed. in special education in 2003. In 2024, she earned her post-graduate certification in school building leadership.

Over the years, Christine has enjoyed cooking projects with students across grade levels, ages and skill level.‍ ‍

Do learners only get to go for one month or can they keep attending?

Once learners attends one Kitchen Skills: Simple Meals Made Easy, they will have continual access to as many month long packages as you would like. Our newsletter will be emailed to you every month to let you know what we will be cooking up the following month.
